There is also a nice kind of rubber tape that you stretch before applying, and
it
fuses into a tough, hermetically sealed, rubber mass.
The kind I have is "3M Scotch 130C Linerless Rubber Splicing Tape".
The Japanese company "Nitto" also makes it.
But you should cover it with regular vinyl tape to prevent it from
sticking to the frame or whatever the wires happen to be resting on.
