When I rebuilt the HS4's I'm using on my Midget 1500, I got a kit from SU Midel
in Australia. It came with new (fixed) jets to replace the old Waxstats that
were on the carbs, and all the new linkage bits - new choke linkages and the
push-nuts that hold them on, and all new gaskets. So question 2, yes it is a
stock part. I even had a set of instructions to tell me which way round the
linkage goes. The suggestion of using Rimmer Bros. website is good to see how
it's supposed to look.
Question 1, I can't really answer, since I completely disassembled my carbs for
cleaning, new needles, etc.
Question 3, I didn't seal mine, and they didn't look sealed...
Question 4, I just used a new gasket. But my engine isn't done, so I haven't
actually run any fuel through my carbs. If you use a sealant, just be sure it's
fuel-resistant...
