Hi there I'm new to the list, although I had asked some questions this last
summer, concerning my fathers 80 spitfire, and now I can proudly say I own a
74 spitfire, but sadly say I have a serious engine problem :( I had a 3 day
trip permit for the car to get it to my house, unfortunately I had too much
fun that first day. I could'nt help but drive it the next two, and you
guessed it the last day....., well there was a slight rattling noise from the
get go, which I attributed to shotty bonnet buffers, since my dads car had
the same problem, however that last day, I noticed it getting louder, and
upon closer inspection realized it was indeed coming from the engine. What
was I to do, I was too far from home, and too broke for a tow truck, so I got
it as close as possible and parked it, by that time the damage was done, it'
s a very loud clacking to (god forbid) knocking sound, and the car has no
power, will NOT go up any hills!
Diagnoses terminal????
