No. The correct length for a MkIV or 1500 with the 3-rail box is 41.25 inches. 
The later 1500 models (1975 onwards, all home market 1500s) with the single 
rail box have a 38" propshaft as the gearbox is3.25 inches longer. 
According to my references, the overdrive propshaft for a late 1500 should be 
37" long.
