The engine is 'offset', but when looking along the head from the rear of
the chassis - it looks angled towards the left rear- therefore not truly
parallel.
I've sandblasted this thing and restored it -but can't see any evidence of
damage on the chassis or body.
All other parts fit back on true.
I've come to believe the motor is just crooked in the frame by design.
