Fred, It gets hot in Kansas, too. Just take ice from your cooler and hold it on the fuel pump. Then you won't have to open it.Ice cream will do in a pinch but it's messy. Clothes pins clipped on the fuel line also help diappeat heat Just take them off before you show it (also make sure they won't do damage if they wiggle or fall.)
