This could be another problem, I have tried hard to find someone to 
align the rear end (front was done recently) but no-one wants to touch it!

The shocks were cheap ones from one of the triumph specialists in the UK 
(black with no indication of make). The seem fine on the static test (ie 
push the car down and wait for it to settle). The car is much better for 
the fitting of new polyurethane bushes all round.
