The cost of running the 220 V line is just the cost of the wire, which I've already got, and the 220 V breaker. I can run and wire it. Space is not a big issue in my garage. Money is the big deal. I've seen some 60 gal. 220 V, 2 stage compressors for $500-600, but then there's the issue of tools, filters, etc. It is all very frustrating.
