Happy Easter weekend all,
I picked up a complete set of HS4's about a month ago, and I wanted to check
with all you gurus out there to make sure I don't do anything overly foolish
(Not that I can generally help it).
What I have is a pair of Waxstat-equipped, Euro-spec HS4's off of a 1500,
and I want to use them on my 1300 engine. SO, here are the issues that I
know I'll have to deal with:
- Do I perform the "2-pence" waxstat conversion? It seems to be what I
should do, but I don't really know what Waxstat is and does...
- Will I need new needles? The engine is a fairly tight 1300 with
electronic ignition and what seems to be a mild street cam (It lives between
3-5000 rpm pretty much all the time) (When it's driving), so maybe I should
just give the ones in there a try?
- Anyone know where to get a couple of cheap air filter assemblies until I
scrape together the cash for K&N's?
- Any tips for the rebuild?
- Does anyone have a detailed description of the plumbing available? I've
seen some pictures, but it would be nice to know for sure where everything's
supposed to be!
Any other tips would be appreciated too!
TIA,
Luke
