Hi Tim,
I have added an extra lower rear thrust washer, and pinned it (actually
screwed) it to the bearing cap. I know the upper washer is often pinned,
but it means taking the crank out to change the washer - I want to avoid
that necessity.
My discussion, however, is on keeping those washers oiled. At the moment
they rely on splash from the pan, and drips running down the webs. I
propose a definite hole in the web to the thrust washer area, then drilling
the washer in that recessed area so oil can actually get to the face of the
crank.
