Do I get from your message that you are having problems with the choke
pulling itself back in if you don't hold it out?
If so, it might be worth investigating an MGB choke cable and lever. These
are much less stiff to pull, and you twist the handle 90 deg to lock it in
place, twist back to release and the choke retracts under spring pressure
(pulled by the spring on the choke mechanism on the carb). Whether it is
long enough I have no idea, but worth checking at least...
