that would not be the best of both worlds.  A ram pipe or velocity stack
is vital, and has more effect on air flow and the accompaning power then 
either cold air or the air filter.  

Simple enough to make a PVC or drier tube cold air feed.  One of my
Spitfires has it.

Hi All,
Just been thinking about the Air flow to spit carbs after chatting to
one of the list last night.
I have been thinking of getting some K&Ns to provide a free flow, but I
realised that that would mean loosing the coll air routing fromt he
ducting used on the normal Air box.
Has anyone modified the airbox to fit K&Ns thus getting the best of both
worlds, eg cool air and free flow?
