Hi Scott,
I've no experience in that area, though I do know that when
Standard-Triumph installed the Ensign engine (TR block with smaller liners)
into the formerly 948 engined Standard Atlas commercial vehicle, they
completely re-engineered the front chassis frame to take the larger engine.
I've never really compared the 2 engines side by side, though the TR unit is
considerably more bulky than the Heralds unit. I always rather fancied
dropping one of those lovely Daimler 2.5 hemi-head V8s into a Herald myself
- such a gorgeously smooth idle and a nice bark on open throttle....... I'm
getting carried away now!
