I saw this in a CNN story
"At only 1,587 pounds, it would be the lightest car ever allowed on the road
by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, assuming it passed
the test. The lightest vehicle now on the road is the Honda Insight, an
electric/gasoline hybrid vehicle that weighs 1,868 pounds, or 17 percent
more."
