The other thing I'd mention about VW radiators is that both inlet and outlet 
are on the same (right) side of the radiator, at least on all of them that I 
have seen.  The diesels might be different though I'd doubt it since the 
diesel is based off the same basic block as the gas engine (just 
strengthened).  If anyone needs VW parts looked up I have access to the 
factory VW/Audi parts program and can look up specific parts if you need.
