Rod Bearings

I'm using the MG rod bearings in my 1500.
I've filed the outside of the locator tag; these
bearings fit the crankpin with about 1/16''
clearance on each side. Do they need to have
material removed. I was told to remove about
1 millimeter from the tag side. There is about
a 1 millimeter overhang past the flat area in
the middle of the rod where the bearing seats;
extending over the chamfer on the outside of
the rod.
