Barry, buff the polished area to the bright finish you desire, then clean the entire wheel with lacquer thinner making sure you have no contaminents of any kind on the wheel, (preheat @300 for 15 does good), tape off the bright area, spray and cure the gold (for 20 min.after flow out), remove the tape and again clean the bright area of any glue from the tape, spray the entire wheel with clear and cure, thats it no problems, it does not bleed through, only precaution is making sure you properly cured the gold.
