While re assembling my spring/diff which did not have a rubber pad, I found a
scrap of heavy duty rubber at suppler (forget where).  Cut it to fit the width,
then decided how long  to make it.  I reckoned that if it was too long - ie as
long as the box on the top of spring it would be too long and prevent some of
the "roll" the setup was designed for.  So I just cut it about half the length,
centered it over the bump in the top leaf and clamped it together.  Hoping it
works good enough.
