For me, it's the MkIII, even though that's not what I own. I prefer the rounded
tail, but I also like the raised front bumper, and I love the instrument cluster
being in the middle. But I bought a 1500, because I use my car as a daily
driver, and thought the MkIII's 1300cc engine would be slightly lacking.

I guess this somewhat rhetorical question is directed primarily at owners of
multiple Spitfires that cross different model year ranges. Like someone
that might own a '66 Mk2 and a '71 MkIV. If you had to choose between your
Spitfires, which one would you keep and why?
Putting the question another way for all Spitfire owners, what is your
favorite model year and why is that so? In my case, the answer is strictly
emotional. The '67 Mk3 was the first car I ever bought and my attachment to
that particular year and model is well documented on my website. But what
was YOUR reason for selecting the particular year of Spitfire you own? Luck
of the draw? Or something more specific?
This should make for an interesting thread...
