Greg: This spring I had to replace the water pump on my '73 Spit 1500. I repaired a stripped bolt hole on the water pump housing with a helicoil. It's pricey at first, if you don't have the right size drill bit and the tap, but hey, you end up with a new tool and the job will be done right! The helicoil works very well. Be sure to put some teflon paste around the bolt threads to help the seal. Good luck, Walt Fogle '73 Spitfire 1500 |
