You have to be careful, we have done dyno tests on the "typical" aftermarket
header and found a power loss over a stock manifold, the Triumph manifold is
not all that bad. I'm not against headers as I use them and there is
something to be gained with a good one. The MK2 tubular manifold works very
well, you can adapt it to the 8 port head with a new flange or one off of an
old 8 port header. The only good header that I can recommend is the ones made
by Stahl, they are expensive and worth it, There could be other ones out
there, but I've not seen them. It is a clue that if your header tubes come
out of the head, bend sharply down 90 degrees straight down, go down below
the frame and then bend back 90 degrees and immediately have a stubby
collector then you have a "typical" header.
