David,
I installed the Rimmer Stainless Steel Sport exhaust and header on my 80
Spitfire. It looks like it should be a high performance exhaust - it looks
like you could roll a golf ball clear through it. I can't make any claims for
performance improvement as I changed to dual SU's at the same time I installed
the exhaust system. - It feels a whole lot faster now, but I would guess most
of that is the carbs.
To me they sound quieter than the Monza's. I remember even just after I
installed the Monzas (I replaced them with the Rimmer system) they sounded
pretty loud and bothered me on the longer trips. The Rimmer doesn't. Maybe I
am just deafer now.
