The reson that the overdrive is not used in 1st and 2nd is a question of
propshaft speed, not torque. If you have ever seen the inside of a J type
you know how strong these things are. They are used happely on a TR6 in 3rd
and 4th and you know how much torque you get from a 2.5PI engin.
The reson for not having it on 1st and 2nd is a question of shaft speed, the
shaft is rotating enough to give good oil pressure at the pump, thus not
engagin it firmly and leading to the clutch slipping and burning.
If you tune you car you dont wory about the overdrive, this thing is realy
well engenered.
