Spitted ones,
Some background: After 26 years, I decided that the flex
brake lines needed to be replaced. Ordered the stainless
ones from TSI. Also decided that the bushings needed to
be replaced. Last night, I started working on everything.
First corner, brake line goes like a breeze. Three of the
four bushings are replaced with little difficulty. The
4th, upper front A-arm, the bolt won't come out. Hitting
it with a hammer is only serving to bend the metal panel!
Before quitting for the night, I sprayed it with rust
remover. If the bolt still won't come out, does anyone have
any suggestions? This is the bolt that you must remove
the shock to remove anyway. Has bent up tabs to keep it
from spinning. Is that the only reason for the tabs? If
so, I can straighten them out and then bend them back up
afterwards. At least I hope I can if I can then get a
pair of vise grips on the tube to hold it in place.
Cheers,
