Mark,
When I did mine I got an aftermarket guage from a local parts store (paid less
than $20). I can't remember the brand and I can't check because my car is in
Hawaii and I'm in PA. But, it looks almost exactly like the Smiths guages so
it blends in very well. I removed the light switch and installed the new oil
guage between the fuel and temp guages. The three guages in a row look real
nice. I relocated the light switch directly above where it was but laid it on
its side. So it now sits above the new oil guage but below the heater
controls and in a horizontal orientation. There were probably better places
to put the light switch but all options would have meant lengthening the wires
and removing the drivers side dash panel to cut the hole. I guess I just got
lazy.
For me the bottom line is ANY oil pressure guage is better than just a light.
And just remember - measure twice, cut once.
