Mark,

My '71 came with aftermarket mechanical oil pressure gauge neatly installed
between the fuel and temp gauges by a PO. It was so nicely done I didn't even
realize it wasn't a factory item until I looked through the manuals that came
with the car. The gauge was a chrome bezel Stewart-Warner that I replaced with a
blackout newer version. The hazard switch was moved from the old position to a
toggle switch on the dash. The pressure sending unit for the idiot light is
gone, replaced by a fitting to the oil gauge. Someday when I'm consumed with
ambition I'll get a sending unit, replumb the gauge with a "T" fitting and get
my oil light back. The OP gauge is the best-lit gauge in the whole dash.

Regards,
Bob Waid
71 Spifire, (sadly) put away for the winter.
