As some of you may remember I was asking questions about differentials
when I first joined the list, well now its time for the swap. This week
I'll get the axle output bearings changed on the "new" differential and
the mounting bushings should be here by week's end.
What I need to know is there any special thing I need to consider when
switching my 4.11 for a 78's 3.89. I know the spacer system is
different. Will this matter? And I know my speedo will be out of
whack, I'll fix that later.
UPDATES:
I've decided to buy an ABS tranny cover so I can stay cool now that the
daytime highs are 77 degrees, go figure. As for the master cylinder
I'll be rebuilding that early next week with a Girling kit. Hopefully
the armrest I got from a 78 will be back from the upholster's this week
too. We'll see how it all works out. Next on the list will be to
replace my P.O.S. radio with something from this decade. I've got some
NICE Infinity Kappas (6X9) from one of my previous vehicles that are
begging to go in the spit.
