Vic,
It is not so much that "things have progressed" it is just that I've
been too busy to work on the car lately. This past weekend was the
first I've been able to get under the car and take a real good,
thorough look over the frame. (And take those pictures for others to
see)
I still feel pretty good that all the rust on the frame is confined to
this small area. One person suggested I may be able to have a shop
weld on a patch plate with the body on the car. I think I'll try this.
Also, I'm going to undercoat/paint the region heavily to prevent
further oxidation.
I was just wondering if anyone had any secrets regarding this kind of
repair.
After I get the engine rebuilt, I'm going to run the car a bit, then
will probably down it for a couple of months to pull the body and fix
the frame... I'm also planning on adding A/C next year so maybe I'll
do the whole thing at once....
