I installed a couple of mini-split heat pumps for our garage & the room 
above. They are very efficient and quiet. I can push a button on the remote 
control in the morning and the garage is shirt-sleeve warm after breakfast.

The heat function is less efficient at very cold temps - below 30F. So, if 
you are in a colder climate they may not be your ideal choice.
