okay, it's been five years, but I finally got around to looking at the sliding
glass doors to the rear patio. the doors will not slide unless you pick them
up and then they grind. obviously there must be a bearing or roller, or
something the door rides on.
so I take the door off...nothing. there's a slot lined with felt that fits
over the track in the door frame. no old roller, no space for a roller to fit,
just the felt-lined track.
so a trip to home depot, where I buy every replacement roller they have,
assuming I'm missing something. get them home, take door off again...still no
place to put any of these things. they all need a mortise to fit into. the
door doesn't seem to have one of those.
am I missing something? there has to be a bearing for the door to ride on,
right? they can't just be designed to grind, can they?
