Exhaust Pipe Paint

Anyone got any suggestions as to a good paint for a exhaust pipe? I'm talking
about the pipe after the muffler not the headers.
Those 'High Temp' paints in a spray can seem to be very porous  and seem to
wash off.
I'll be dealing with new ( no rust) mild steel.
 Ya' think epoxy primer would work ?
