I don't know about the products you mention, but for the Hewland Mk9 gearbox
on my formula ford (aluminum, holds oil), I, and I believe all other Hewland
users, seal with Hylomar.  It's a light blue translucent material in a
tube.  It's for sale at the usual race suppliers (Pegasus, Racer Wholesale,
BAT, etc).
