There are several good products for metal/metal contact.  Yamaha makes a product
called Yammabond (about 4-5$/tube) it is made for this sort of application. 
Problem is that only a yamaha dealer sells it.  Honda also has a similar
product.  why not make a gasket out of nitrile impregnated blank gasket
material.  The stuff is cheap and it works pretty well...It is available from
McMaster-Carr and probably felpro.
