tom
i am definetly not a paint man but i have done some wet sanding i have
taken some vehicles and motorcycles that had paint that was either real dull
or had lots of swirls or imperfections started with 1000 grit and sanded
them with a flow of water
then moved up to 1300 and then 1500 then the paint was rubbed using
compound or a wax and it turned out very nice we do it to vehicles here at
the dealership if they have extreme paint problems on a vehicle that has
plenty of paint left i dont know how clear coats come into play however
hope this helps
