I sense this is a problem for all these old trucks. Even with a cutoff, the
battery seems to mysteriously discharge. My 48 and 49 is that way. I am
wondering if one of those battery tenders would be a good idea. Part if the
mystery is that the carb bowl empties due to evaporation, then the fuel pump
has to pump new fuel all the way from the tank so it takes more battery
charge to get it going after a few weeks of non-usage. Anyone having any
brilliant ideas concerning this problem, please share. I only use my old
truck a few times a month and it seems to be normal for me to grab the
battery charger as a routine.
