angle of the output shaft of the trans is the inverse of the pinion shaft. In
other words, if the trans output shaft is 2 degrees down (from level) then the
pinion shaft should be 2 degrees up. This makes the output shaft angle and the
pinion shaft angle parallel to each other. There are some variations of this in
the racing community but for a street driven car or truck the angles should be
parallel. As far as an angle on the trans goes you should try to keep the angle
of the motor/trans assembly with in 3 degrees of level if at all possible. This
will make your "U" joints last a lot longer.

I thought you should put the tranny such that it is in line with the
rear. This way the u-joints are straight.
