I did a frame off this year on a 54 AD Delux cab and bought thousands of $$
in new parts spread between Jim Carter, Chevy Duty, Golden State, Obsolete
Truck Parts, and Patricks.
One of my goals was absolute total authenticity and I found that Carter was
hands down the most helpful and knowledgeable. I too met Jim at Carlisle and
he brought to me paint chips from the two tone cab interior paint that I
could not authenticate anywhere! Landon one of his technicians was at
Carlisle and could answer any question I had. I had things go back that I
ordered and did not fit and I never had a problem with a return. On the
other hand I found Chevy Duty good at returns and order processing.
I agree Carters catalog is the bible! If I were only using one supplier in
the future, it would be Carter.
Another point for those of you that have De Lux cabs....Carter has every
single item to do the interior right except the color coordinated rubber mat.
If you want that done, you have to paint it.
