I don't know the answer to your question, but I have a solution that 
works for me in my bugeye.  I went to radio shack and got a little 12 
volt beeper, and wired it across the contacts of the flasher.  Now the 
bugeye beeps as it flashes, and I have no trouble hearing it.

At stoplights, as Kermit sits there beeping, drivers of nearby cars 
sometimes raise an eyebrow, but that is small price to pay.  Sooner or 
later, forgetting to turn off the signal was going to cause me to have an 
accident.
