Hello fellow mgistas;
Haynes and Bentley make it sound so easy. "Remove master cylinder cover." I
should have known better. I have a 79 B with the clutch master in the way
back, and the booster and brake master up front by the air cleaner. I have
the car sitting in some neighbourhood where my brother got it before the
fluid in the clutch drained out. I tried removing all the screws, no
budging. I got two of the bolts that hold it to the body off (why are they
different sizes?), but still not even any movement like I'm getting close.
I have been busy to read much of the mail recently, but I have noticed some
master cylinder talk. My question is if there is a way to take out only the
clutch master, or if I must take apart the whole works. If so, I'll have to
bring the car home, which means some sort of towing, the prospect of which
is unappealing to me right now.
I'm going to troll the archives right now and see what I see, but please
mail me direct if you've BTDT, as I'm on the digest.
The lesson in all this: don't give little brother the key when you go on
vacation, if only for a weekend.
