So where does one mine hydrogen? I mean you wouldn't have to burn coal,
gas or oil to produce the electricity to hydrolise water to produce
hydrogen would you?
So assuming that the various energy conversion processes are 50% efficient
we would get
Burning oil in cars = 50% efficiency
Burning hydrogen in cars = 50% (oil burn) X 50% (electricity burn) X 50%
(hydrogen burn) + 12.5% efficiency
So burning oil (gas/petrol) gives us a 50% efficiency and going to hydrogen
gives us 12.5% efficiency. Let's all go that way an let's all increase the
need to burn more oil!!!
