I think there's a few more steps:
Switch the leads on the coil so the SW terminal is now connected to the
white with black wire.
Polarize, "flash", the generator.
Change the clamps on the cables at the batteries as one is bigger than
the other.
Insure that the fuel pump is not polarity sensitive such as a
transistorized unit.
Insure that the distributor is not equipped with a possitive ground
electronic system.
