There are three studs holding the convertor to the manifold. Theoretically,
if you remove the bolts, the convertor should come off. Howwever, the PO
may have used a sealant. Be careful in how you remove it since the Stromberg
manifold is very suceptible to cracking. If the convertor is stubborn, I
would suggest removing the manifold and working on it outside the car.
Also make sure that you are installing the proper gasket. It should be
metallic.
