Actually  only somewhat true.

Historic plates in NJ  are for display and educational purposes. This is a
very broad and undefined regulation. Clearly , you can not use them as a
daily driver. However on weekends, etc. I drive on historics all the time.
I am always displaying and educating people about my MGs.
