I double checked with the NJ DMV regarding only having to use one
License Plate when the vehicle has Historic Plates effective May 1st.
Below is their answer - im printing out a copy to show the first cop to
stop me for only having one plate :)

Effective immediately, vehicles more than 25.6 years old and registered as =
Historic Vehicles do not need to display two special license plates. A =
single special historic plate, displayed on the rear of the vehicle, is =
sufficient.
