As Kelvin pointed out in another mail, there are lots of rules about
WHERE to locate 'isolation' switches and 'circuit breakers' (my
reference: Confederation of Australian Motor Sport (CAMS) "1999 Manual
of Motor Sport" - otherwise known as THE RULE BOOK, but some call it by
worse names than that).
However, there is NO mention of how it should operate apart from saying
that it needs to "isolate' everything that can go phhhhht (technical
term) or crackle.
