WARNING, WARNING !

The common mode of failure for a cam driven mechanical fuel pump (ala 1500
Midget) is for the diaphram to spring a leak. You may see fuel dripping
out of the base of the pump, but there is a high probability that the
leaking fuel will be going directly into the oil sump via that drive access
hole in the side of the engine block. Gasoline in the engine oil is bad,
bad, bad, bad news. Install a new pump ASAP and give it fresh oil and
filter as well as a precaution.
