hood to window seal

Hi list, I finished installing my hood to window seal. When I close the
hood and lock both hinges the hoods fabric and window frame meet perfectly
from the center on out to the left and right up to about 3 inches on each
side. From my point of view the rubber seal is to thick on the ends and
thus avoids the hood fabric to contact the window frame although the all of
the seal seals correctly.Should I trim the rubber seal on the corners?
