The valve works just fine. I checked it with someones help.

What I did in addition is remove the wire between the circuit brakes and
the coil. This caused the engine to stall immidiately.

I will have to look for an electrical problem I suppose, like someone on
the list mentioned before.

The generator still makes a voltage and has power enough to have the
coil make a spark. Maybe a relay would help here.

NB I have a degree in electronics, so if I can't find the problem I
should go back 20 years and find some books.
