Don't know if this is a consideration for anyone else, but when I finally
get around to refinishing my seats, I'm going to make sure they remain as
low as possible. Why? Well, many years ago (in a performance driving book),
I read that the lower you sit in a car (closer to the center of gravity or
roll center, I forget which...maybe they're the same) the more "feel" you
will have for the car under cornering (especially hard cornering)
conditions. So, I tried lowering my seat. Man, what a difference. Now when
I buy a car, the first thing I do is try to lower the seat. Ideally, I
don't like to even be able to see the hood, and just barely over the wheel
would be great (although this is a little extreme for street applications).
Just my .02 worth. :)
