Hi,

I just read your E-Mail on the mg list.
 - I have a '78 B with idling problems, and I have been
wondering about the Gulp valve? - How do you know
when it is bad and where do you get a japanese replacement
and for what car is it intended - are the fixings similar?

Thanking you in anticipation fo any info.

Uh, Debbie...if your mechanic disconnects the engine and tells you just
to
run it down hill, will you get a little suspicious?

Poluting the air - even "in the desert" - isn't something you can
justify
if your car isn't running right.

While your new mechanic can probably get the car running, I wouldn't be
inclined to continue to use him. What you need is a "real" MG mechanic
who
is familiar with B's. Why don't you do some more looking and I'm sure
you
can find one who can really help. The gulp valve can be replaced with a
japanese equivilant for approx $60...well worth it.
